North Hillsborough School Parent Group

Dear North School Parents:
Welcome to the North Parent Group (NPG) home page.  The NPG's mission is to support North School students, North School staff and provide community building activities for North Families. The NPG is part of the Associated Parents' Group (APG) of Hillsborough.
The North Parent Group wants you to feel well informed and connected to our wonderful community. Below and in the navigation bar to the left are some of the ways for you to enjoy that experience. If you ever have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to our 2018-2019 NPG President, Susan

IMPORTANT DATES:  Click here to see next year's events and other important dates, and for calendar links for Google Calendar, Outlook, etc.  Whether you’re on a committee or enthusiastically attending our events – everyone has an important role to play at North.

Monday, June 11th:
Meet our new principal, Heidi Felt at the Traffic Circle, 8:10am-8:30am and 2:45pm-3:15pm. Ms. Felt will be greeting students and would love to say hi to you!

Tuesday, June 12th:
Yearbooks will be distributed by classroom teachers. Students can bring their yearbooks back all week for signing. Thanks to Yearbook Co-Chairs: Kim Keyak and Amy Wang and their entire committee for the beautiful archive of North memories. If you feel moved by their efforts, send them a note of appreciation!

Thursday, June 14th:
NO EARLY DISMISSAL. This is a "regular schedule" day.
Field Day- look for an email from your teacher with more details and your grade level color to wear on Thursday. Note- activities will be taking place on the North Field in the afternoon, so a full water bottle and sunscreen are a must.  A baseball cap would be a good idea too.

Friday, June 15th:
Last day of school! 8:30am start and 10:30am Dismissal. (no lunch!)
Note- parking for pickup is CRAZY! Leave plenty of time.
5th Grade Promotion begins at 8:30am on Friday, in the North MPR. Please leave lots of time for finding a parking spot. The ceremony ends around 10am with plenty of time for hugs, photo ops and refreshments.

Thank you to our Art in Action co-chairs and miracle-workers, Shawna Droese, Sheila Druskin and Tina McCutcheon. Together they organized more than 100 Art in Action lessons in our classrooms this year! Students had the opportunity to get creative while sketching, painting, drawing, working with clay, wire and paper mache. Thanks to all of the parent Docents and Assistants that made these lessons come to life.  At the unbelievable Art Show, those creative and artistic pieces were displayed in a setting you had to see to believe! A bakery, a magic shop, and a black light glow gallery were just a few ways student art was displayed for all to view and enjoy.

Thank you to the STEAM Leadership Team for planning and producing an EPIC night of innovation! Over 180 students participated and our community came together to celebrate Science, Technology, Engineering, Art/Design and Math!
