North Hillsborough School Parent Group

Dear North School Parents:
 Welcome to the North Parent Group (NPG) home page.  The NPG's mission is to support North School children, North School staff and provide community building activities for North Families. The NPG is part of the Associated Parents' Group (APG) of Hillsborough. 
The North Parent Group wants you to feel well informed and connected to our wonderful community. Below and in the navigation bar to the left are some of the ways for you to enjoy that experience. If you ever have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to our NPG President, Kim Oliff:

IMPORTANT DATES:  Click here to see this year's events and other important dates.  Whether you’re on a committee or enthusiastically attending our events – everyone has an important role to play at North.

  •  Feb. 1st:    Project Night Night, 1:30-2:30pm, Library (details below)
  •  Feb. 5th:   Talent Show Dress Rehearsal 3:30pm
  •  Feb. 6th:   WALK & ROLL Wednesday- walk or bike to school
  •  Feb. 8th:   TALENT SHOW! 6-8pm in the MPR
  •  Feb. 16th:  NO SCHOOL!
  •  Feb.22nd   North Parent Group Meeting and Allocations Vote- 8:30am
  •  Feb.23rd:   Superintendent Coffee, 8:45am MPR

 FEB. 1st, 1:30-2:30pm in the North Library

Pay participant fee:

Superintendent Coffee this month- Friday, Feb 23rd at 8:45am in the MPR.

Would you like to be more involved at North School? Consider nominating yourself for a position on the 2018/2019 North Parent Group Executive Board. The NPG Board meets once a month and additionally holds three to four Parent Group General Meetings throughout the year. For the Nomination Form, please click here

The following are board positions that are open for next year:

  • Executive Vice President (EVP) - Chair of Allocations committee and NPG President in 2019/20
  • Secretary - Take meeting minutes, update message board at front of North weekly.
  • Communications VP - request submissions, edit and publish North News.
  • Events VP - Oversee NPG event committees, volunteer recruitment.
  • Trustee Representative - Attend all Board of Trustee meetings and report back to NPG Board.
  • Room Parent Coordinator - Oversee room parents and manage all communication to room parents.


Susan Pfendt, currently the EVP, is slated to be the incoming Parent Group President for 2018/2019.

North Parent Group (NPG) Dues -   At North, we depend entirely on your NPG Dues to fund many enriching programs and events like our STEAM Fair, Movie Night, school assemblies, Heritage Day, Service Learning, staff appreciation, and Art in Action to name a few. Your NPG Dues also cover student school supplies, teacher gifts, your school directory AND your child's yearbook.  Dues are paid online by clicking here.  We need to be at 100% participation! Concerns?  Contact Erin Lager:  

Volunteering at North -  Volunteers are integral to our efforts.  Volunteering gives us the chance to build community and foster new friendships.  We are looking for dedicated committee members and rockstar committee chairs to step up and help out!  Please don't hesitate to JUMP IN and participate- your kids will be impressed and we will be so grateful! It's never too late to sign up. We could use a few more pairs of hands to help on the day of the Staff Holiday Luncheon 12/15. Email Jen Sills:

New Families to North School Grades K-5 - We hope you are feeling like you are no longer "new" and rather, part of our great community of parents, caregivers and extended family. If you ever feel like you could use some additional outreach from our parent group, or have a question or concern, you can always reach out to me.
